Academy finally apologizes for Farrah snub
The Academy is finally admitting they were wrong to leave Farrah Fawcett out of the "In Memoriam" portion of Sunday night's Oscar telecast.
Executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Bruce Davis said that he initially considered putting Farrah in, but in the end felt it would be more appropriate to honor her at the Emmys because of her "remarkable television work."
Explained Davis, "There's nothing you can say to people, particularly to family members, within a day or two of the show that helps at all. They tend to be surprised and hurt, and we understand that and we're sorry for it."
