You’ve probably met Kidd O’Shea before. Maybe it was while he was DJing a party in Mequon during high school; maybe it was on a free MIX bus ride to Summerfest; maybe it was while he was out reporting on a fun Milwaukee event for WISN12 News This Morning on the weekend; maybe you handed him a Kleenex at the latest chick flick at the AMC Mayfair. Don’t be fooled…that IS Kidd O’Shea.
Listen for Milwaukee’s go everywhere / try anything radio guy, weekday mornings from 5-9 a.m. with Elizabeth Kay on The Morning Mix. And if he smells like vinegar when you meet him, be sure to ask Kidd about it’s natural cleaning properties. He’ll give you an earful…and then some!
South Siders UNITE…Elizabeth Kay has arrived! A graduate of Thomas More High School (Shout out to St. Francis!) and UW-Milwaukee, Elizabeth joined Kidd in June 2009 on The Morning Mix after working at a radio station in Green Bay. She’s a huge Packers fan, so she fit in just fine, even though her ‘sconsin accent wasn’t QUITE as thick.
In her free time, Elizabeth and her husband Aaron enjoy doing all sorts of cute “newlywed things” that newlyweds do, and taking care of their pride and joy, Huey. Not a child, a dog. (And thank goodness. Who would name their kid Huey?) Listen for Elizabeth on the Morning Mix from 5-9 a.m
Combine one part Dwight Schrute from “The Office” and one part Ross from “Friends,” you have Tony Lorino. Growing up in Shorewood, he had dreams of worldwide (or, at least village-wide) domination. Nowadays, he’s content with just picking the songs on The Mix and trying to keep tabs on everything.
We're not sure he has spare time, because all he does is e-mail everyone around here with instructions on what to do. But supposedly, he can be spotted on many-a-patio on Milwaukee's East Side, overtipping waitresses and handing out business cards with his phone number. Listen for Tony weekdays from 9-11 a.m. and weekends on 99.1 WMYX.
Van “The Man” McNeil has been there. Done that. He can tell you about it, but for your own good, he probably shouldn’t.
After years down the hall at our sister station, Van moved to The Mix in 2006, where he’s continued keeping Milwaukeeans in the loop with the oddest possible news stories in the world, and playing Mix music all day. When he’s not working, you’ve probably heard him as the PA announcer for the Milwaukee Wave, or seen him playing Dad at a dance recital or soccer game. And to our knowledge, he hasn’t been removed from a children’s sporting event…yet.
Ryan Seacrest is on The Mix! YES…THAT Ryan Seacrest! Thanks to his huge blackberry and bazillion twitter followers, Ryan and his co-host Ellen K., keep Milwaukee connected with the biggest names in entertainment direct from Hollywood. So how did he end up on 99.1 WMYX every afternoon from 4-7 p.m? Let’s just say it had something to do with a dare…and a missing package of hair product.
When Ryan isn’t on The Mix, American Idol, E! News, or tweeting, he’s probably waxing his eyebrows. Or waxing something else. (We’ll leave that a mystery.)
